Microphone design has not advanced substantially since the 1950s. Sound designer Kent M. Fuqua has taken a fresh look at the circuitry and field of pickup of microphones for the recording of music, speech, and ambiences.
Fully developed in both vacuum-tube and solid-state versions, the KMF Audio stereo microphone (U.S. patent pending) brings about a historic advance in microphone technology.
The KMF Audio microphone produces an audio signal of unprecedented strength and detail, reproducing a three-dimensional soundstage with exceptionally natural “breath” and depth.
KMF Audio’s transducers are small-diaphragm and hand-selected for accuracy rather than coloration. A perfectly matched custom pre-amplifier and custom power supply are combined with Fuqua’s original concept for the stereo transducer array. The result is an astonishing simulation of the experience of natural human hearing.
KMF Audio microphones are currently available for order and recording projects.
